Planful has announced a series of AI-powered innovations to help CFOs address talent shortages, improve finance team productivity and accelerate decision-making.
Presented at the Perform25 event, these new features include personalised AI assistants, enhancements to the Workforce Pro and Consolidations Premium solutions, as well as new integrations with Snowflake and Tableau. Through these advances, Planful aims to address the growing challenges faced by finance leaders in a context marked by rapid digital transformation and talent scarcity.
AI assistants designed for finance professionals
At the heart of this announcement is Planful AI, a suite of AI assistants tailored to each user profile. These tools were designed to ease the workload of finance teams. They automate repetitive tasks and deliver in-depth analysis. Among the first assistants available to early users:
The Analyst assistant: helps with variance analysis, generates automated commentary and builds scenarios.
The Planner assistant: supports forecasting and scenario optimisation.
The Controller assistant: automates accounting adjustments and compliance checks.
However, other assistants are under development, notably for Business Analyst, Modeler and Administrator roles.
According to Kevin Washek, Director of FP&A at Kimball Midwest, the integration of Planful and its AI capabilities has transformed his team’s productivity: “Before Planful, we were slowed down by time-consuming, low-value tasks. Today, AI enables us to become more efficient and better support strategic decisions.”
Workforce Pro: more detailed, real-time workforce planning
In addition, Planful is strengthening its workforce planning capabilities with Workforce Pro, an extended version of its Workforce Planning module. The solution enables detailed analysis of labour costs, incorporates complex compensation logic (bonuses, commissions, specific structures) and tracks headcount in real time.
Thanks to automated integration between HR and financial data, teams can make faster decisions that are better aligned with the company’s objectives.
Luis Martinez Luna, Finance Director at Rocket Software, highlights the importance of the customisation offered: “The ability to adapt calculations to our specific requirements, particularly for merit analysis or scenario planning, is a game changer.”
Consolidations Premium: automating and simplifying the financial close
Furthermore, the extension of Consolidations Premium further enhances the automation, visualisation and collaboration capabilities already available in Planful’s consolidation solution. Companies can now manage complex ownership structures, automate currency conversions, perform eliminations at all levels and customise calculations across any dimension.
Clear visualisation of organisational charts and the management of sub-consolidations enable better oversight of international or multi-subsidiary structures.
New integrations for improved interoperability
Planful also announces the launch of two strategic connectors:
A native Snowflake connector, which facilitates the import of operational and statistical data into the platform.
A Tableau connector, enabling Planful data to be used in dynamic enterprise dashboards.
These integrations are intended to strengthen collaboration between finance, operational and IT teams, while maintaining a single, reliable source for analysis.
Finally, a new forecasting feature has been introduced in Planful for Marketing, enabling marketing teams to better anticipate spending, build forecasts across multiple budget levels and manage their financial performance more precisely.
