OneStream releases version 8.5.0 of its unified EPM platform.

March 2025 marks the official release of version 8.5.0 of the OneStream platform, bringing a series of functional, technical and usability enhancements that strengthen the vendor’s position in the enterprise performance management market. True to its goal of unifying and simplifying companies’ financial processes, OneStream offers major improvements in this new version for end users, developers and administrators alike.
New optimised drop-down menus
Among the most notable innovations, the introduction of parameter-driven drop-down menus in Excel and Spreadsheet represents a real time-saver. These lists are automatically generated from member lists, delimited lists or linked lists. This eliminates the need to manually create data validations in Excel files, while ensuring consistent selections.
Enhancements to menus, security and journals
A menu component has also been introduced in dashboards, enabling developers to create interactive navigation menus, available in both the Windows application and OneStream’s modern web interface.
On the security side, version 8.5.0 introduces a new “AnalyticsApi” role, specifically designed for one-way connections to Power BI. This role provides better access control and secures data flows to external analytics tools.
Journals also benefit from several usability enhancements: debit, credit and total amounts are now right-aligned and displayed with thousands separators according to the user’s locale. Column sorting is enabled with a single click, with multi-column sorting available by holding down the Shift key.
In the area of authentication, OneStream now selects the "profile" checkbox by default in "Scopes" when adding an OIDC (OpenID Connect) identity provider, ensuring smoother configuration while retaining the option to disable it according to the identity provider’s requirements.
New visual rendering features
Several new features enhance dashboard components. In particular, the text editor component includes an "Allow Refresh" property, enabling the "Refresh Document" button to be hidden in the ribbons of the Windows application and web interface.
From a visual standpoint, the vendor’s rebranding continues with improved highlighting colours in code editors and the pivot grid, providing better readability of highlighted elements.
Integration Connector evolution
The Intelligent Integration Connector is also evolving: configuration settings are now encrypted and hidden in the interface, the version number is displayed in the utility’s title bar and in the installation file name, and traffic distribution across redundant gateways is optimised for greater resilience.
Improved notifications in the Excel/Spreadsheet add-ins
Finally, in the Excel and Spreadsheet add-ins, notifications are now clearer and more visible. If a data management sequence fails, an alert is displayed directly in the active application, preventing any loss of information for users.
With this release, OneStream confirms its commitment to innovation and a high-quality user experience. According to the vendor, finance departments, IT teams and integration partners benefit from a richer, more user-friendly and even more secure technology foundation. The roadmap already includes further new features for summer 2025.
