Cube announces a partnership with Anthropic to enable finance teams to access their data directly from Claude. With the Cube MCP Server connector, users can query their financial model, analyze variances between budget and actuals and develop new scenarios without leaving their artificial intelligence assistant.
Direct access to financial data
With this integration, Cube aims to simplify access to financial information and make it easier to use on a daily basis. Teams can now ask Claude questions in natural language, with Claude drawing on the data available in Cube to provide responses tailored to their context.
Users can, for example, compare forecast revenue with actual results over the last twelve months, examine the reasons behind an increase in expenses or prepare a summary of quarterly performance for management.
The objective is to make financial analysis more accessible and reduce the time spent searching for information. Teams can therefore devote more time to interpreting results and preparing decisions.
Data governed by company rules
One of the main challenges of this connection concerns data reliability and control. Claude can draw on the financial model already structured in Cube, including its chart of accounts, analytical dimensions and business rules.
The connector also applies the permissions defined in Cube. Each user therefore retains limited access to the information for which they have the necessary rights. The figures consulted can be linked to the corresponding transactions to facilitate verification.
The connection is established from Claude’s connector directory using secure OAuth authentication, without requiring the manual management of API keys.
From analysis to financial simulation
Beyond data consultation, this integration enables teams to explore different financial assumptions. For example, they can create a more favorable growth scenario based on existing forecasts, test new assumptions or extend their model with additional formulas and dimensions.
These capabilities are intended to make it easier to explore several options before making a decision. Cube notes in particular that duplicating a scenario makes it possible to test assumptions without modifying the reference scenario.
The integration also paves the way for more direct use of financial data when preparing reports and presentations for executives.
Artificial intelligence serving the finance function
This partnership illustrates the evolving use of artificial intelligence in the finance function. Rather than being limited to general responses, AI assistants can now draw on an organization’s own data and rules to support more contextualized analysis.
However, this approach relies on one essential factor: data quality, the consistency of the financial model and access controls remain essential to obtaining relevant results.
The Cube MCP Server is announced as available in Claude’s connector directory. Through this integration, Cube and Anthropic aim to bring financial data closer to the tools teams use on a daily basis, making analysis and decision preparation easier.
