The Charlois Group, a French specialist in oak valuation, has chosen Amelkis to transform and bring its financial consolidation process in-house. Operating in six countries, the company aims to leverage a solution capable of addressing its international accounting requirements while strengthening the autonomy of its finance teams.
An international group facing multiple accounting requirements
From the forest to the finished product, the Charlois Group manages the entire oak valuation chain. Its various businesses preserve expertise in fields as diverse as barrel-making, timber, flooring and furniture.
This organization, spread across six countries, requires the management of financial data from multiple entities and compliance with different accounting standards. In particular, the Group must take into account French standards, international IFRS standards and US GAAP.
In this context, financial consolidation is a major challenge. It requires collecting data from the various entities, harmonizing it and producing consistent financial statements, while complying with the specific requirements of each accounting framework.
Automating processes and enhancing the reliability of financial statements
To address these needs, Charlois selected Amelkis EPM to evolve its financial organization. The project notably aims to automate data collection and enhance the reliability of consolidated financial statement production.
Another objective is to enable teams to carry out monthly consolidations independently. By bringing this process in-house, the Group intends to strengthen its control over operations and establish an organization better suited to its financial reporting needs.
Implementing an EPM solution should therefore help structure financial processes and facilitate the management of a multi-entity, multi-framework environment.
A project supporting financial autonomy
Beyond the choice of a tool, this project illustrates the Charlois Group’s desire to gain greater control over a process that is essential to its financial management. In an international environment, automation and data reliability are important levers for simplifying consolidation operations and improving their consistency.
With Amelkis EPM, Charlois is therefore embarking on an evolution of its consolidation process, with a clear ambition: to gain greater autonomy while meeting the accounting requirements of its various entities.
This collaboration forms part of an initiative to structure financial processes in a way that reflects the diversity of the Group’s activities and its international presence.
