Board 14.2: A major update for optimised performance.
25 March 2025
Board announces the release of its 14.2 update, bringing significant improvements in performance, usability and layout management. This new version aims to optimise the user experience and resource management, while reducing errors and memory spikes.
Among the notable developments, layout parameter management has been improved with the introduction of a new parameter, MaxCombinationToEvaluate, which prevents excessively large layouts from running by limiting the size of displayed elements. This feature helps prevent excessive memory allocation and improves system stability. Other existing parameters have also been optimised, including MaxRowsUpperLimit, which provides better visibility into layout errors and cancellations, and LayoutResponseMaxCells, designed to limit IIS memory spikes when processing large data sets.
This update also brings several improvements across different software modules, including Data View, procedures, the Subscription Hub, system administration and Flex Grid. These developments enhance the platform's robustness and efficiency for users.
On 13 March 2025, Board deployed a corrective patch under version 14.2.2.2.303845, providing bug fixes, particularly for entity management. A critical alert was issued regarding an issue detected in versions 14.2.1 and earlier, affecting users with the Builder role when using the Delete Entity Member function. This bug can lead to data accessibility issues, making the prompt application of this update essential.
On-premises (non-cloud) users can download the new version from the dedicated Board 14.2 downloads page and consult the update instructions in the publisher's knowledge base.
