Anaplan announces that it has obtained ISO/IEC 42001 certification, an international standard dedicated to artificial intelligence management systems. This certification, obtained following an independent audit conducted by Bay Mountain Security on August 13, 2026, formalizes the framework put in place by the software provider to govern the use of AI on its platform.
AI governance is becoming a central issue
As artificial intelligence becomes integrated into planning and decision-making processes, companies must also consider how these technologies are controlled. In areas such as finance, supply chain and resource allocation, AI-generated recommendations can have a direct impact on operational decisions.
ISO/IEC 42001 certification covers, in particular, the management of AI-related risks, transparency, data integrity and the controls applied throughout the lifecycle of artificial intelligence systems. For Anaplan, this approach aims to integrate these governance principles directly into its technology strategy.
A framework that supports the platform’s evolution
Anaplan is currently developing several forms of artificial intelligence within its platform, ranging from predictive AI to generative and agentic AI. The objective is to help companies analyze different scenarios, develop forecasts and make decisions based on their data.
This evolution makes the issue of AI governance particularly important. The more technologies are involved in critical processes, the more companies seek mechanisms that enable them to understand, control and secure their use.
In this context, Anaplan presents ISO/IEC 42001 certification as an extension of its existing security and data protection measures.
Agentic AI is moving closer to finance functions
This announcement also comes as Anaplan continues its strategy around the “Agentic Enterprise”, a model in which artificial intelligence agents can contribute to the execution of certain business operations.
The software provider plans an initial rollout of skills-based agents for CFO functions later in 2026. For finance departments, this development could gradually shift the role of AI from data analysis toward more direct participation in certain planning and management processes.
In this context, AI governance is no longer merely a technical issue. It is also becoming a component of the conditions under which finance departments can integrate these technologies into their processes.
A certification that complements compliance measures
ISO/IEC 42001 adds to the various certifications and frameworks that Anaplan says it complies with, including SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and ISO 27018.
The company also makes its certifications, audit reports and compliance documents available in its Trust Center.
With this new certification, Anaplan is placing AI governance within the continuity of its security, privacy and compliance initiatives. This development reflects the broader growing role of artificial intelligence in companies’ planning and performance management tools.
