Anaplan is enhancing its platform with a new release that introduces major advances in modelling, governance and user experience. These developments reflect an ongoing commitment to delivering an ever more powerful, intuitive and collaborative planning solution.
Governance and security: towards stronger application management
This new release introduces the "Application Owner" role, enabling administrators to grant certain users the ability to view, generate and accept application updates. This new feature strengthens application governance and optimises multi-tenant management.
The BYOK logs (Bring Your Own Key) have been redesigned to make them easier to read, improving security transparency.
At the same time, an improvement to global navigation enables users to clearly distinguish, as soon as they open the menu, which features are enabled in their working environment.
Polaris: exponentially greater computing power
The Polaris calculation engine is evolving with:
Support for eight nested dimensions on the same axis, compared with three previously;
Improved performance for imports between complex models, even with high dimensionality;
The introduction of the ITEMLEVEL and HIERARCHYLEVEL functions, making it easy to identify an item's level in a hierarchy and thereby simplifying formula building.
CoPlanner: towards integrated intelligent assistance
The Anaplan CoPlanner module is becoming more effective with the ability to add up to three direct links to application pages in its responses. These dynamic links facilitate access to the relevant modules or views, transforming CoPlanner into a true interactive guide, particularly useful for occasional users.
An enhanced and streamlined UX
The user experience is significantly optimised through several developments:
Network charts now display labels on connections and enable users to visually reorganise link types.
Frozen rows and columns are now retained even after sorting, changing pages or refreshing.
The “Undo” option has been extended to multiple pastes and deletions through keyboard shortcuts.
UX pages can now include navigation buttons to external links (documentation, support, business resources).
Image and Field cards can hide certain interface options such as “maximise” or “comment”.
Hierarchy charts can be paginated to display only the first nodes, freeing up screen space.
Workflows: simplification and customisation
Approval processes become more flexible:
Ability to configure group approvals upon assignment;
Implementation of conditional filters for grouped tasks;
Reduced volume of email notifications, replaced by consolidated alerts;
Customisation of notifications (subject, content) by workflow owners;
Ownership transfer of a workflow model is possible directly from the administration console.
