Workday continues to accelerate innovation for its developer community. During R2 Feature Spotlight Week, the vendor unveiled new features within Workday Extend Copilot, now available to all Extend Pro subscribers.
Transforming natural language into code
The first major advancement is WQL Generation, a tool that directly translates natural language into Workday Query Language (WQL). In practical terms, a developer can formulate a request in plain language and instantly obtain a complex query ready to use. The result: considerable time savings and fewer errors when retrieving dynamic data.
Automating script generation
Another key new feature is PMD Scripting Generation. This functionality automates the creation of validation scripts, reusable functions and code snippets. It enables teams to free themselves from repetitive tasks and focus on business logic and the design of more robust applications.
A WQL component that simplifies everyday work
At the same time, Workday is officially launching the WQL Query Component. This new tool streamlines workflows by simplifying the integration of WQL queries into applications. In particular, it enables users to:
simplify complex API calls,
reuse queries across multiple modules,
easily pass parameters,
and eliminate the tedious steps of manually encoding URLs.
