Prophix is strengthening its Prophix One platform with a new range of features dedicated to artificial intelligence and the automation of financial processes. Presented as part of its fall 2026 launch, these new features reflect the vision promoted by the vendor around “Autonomous Finance”, with the aim of reducing certain manual tasks related to planning, reporting and cash management.
One of the main announcements concerns Prophix Copilot for Microsoft Office. The feature allows users to interact with Prophix financial data directly from several Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Teams. Teams can therefore search for information, generate tables or charts and obtain analyses without having to systematically return to the Prophix application.
Financial data accessible from everyday work tools
Prophix is also highlighting its One MCP Server, a feature designed to connect Prophix data to various artificial intelligence tools. The principle is based on access to live financial data, together with the governance and control mechanisms associated with the platform.
This approach addresses an increasingly common issue in AI projects applied to finance: how to enable artificial intelligence models to leverage company data while preserving its context, governance and reliability. For users, the objective is in particular to be able to ask financial questions of AI tools without multiplying manual data extractions and transfers.
AI becomes part of planning cycles
Prophix is also presenting the Autonomous Planning Agent, designed for recurring planning processes. The agent can support the launch of budget and forecast cycles, manage certain monthly rollover steps and orchestrate submissions and approvals.
The aim is less to replace finance teams than to automate some of the repetitive operations surrounding planning cycles. Teams can therefore retain their role in analysis, trade-offs and decision-making, while certain coordination steps are handled by the platform.
A new approach to cash management
Prophix is also rounding out this wave of new features with banking integrations dedicated to cash management. The platform is intended to give finance teams a daily view of bank flows and automate part of their classification.
Transactions that cannot be matched automatically can be identified for review. This development therefore brings financial planning and operational cash management capabilities closer together within a single environment.
The platform’s gradual evolution
These announcements build on the artificial intelligence features already introduced by Prophix One, including agents dedicated to budgeting, reporting, reconciliation and consolidation. With this new wave, the vendor is seeking to expand the use of AI beyond simply searching for information and integrate it directly into financial processes.
The launch thus illustrates a trend emerging in the EPM sector: AI is no longer limited to providing answers or analysing data. Vendors are now seeking to entrust it with certain steps in a process, while maintaining human control points.
For finance departments, this development primarily raises a question of methodology. The value of these technologies will depend as much on the quality and governance of the data as on their ability to integrate with existing practices. The challenge will therefore be to find the right balance between automation, control and human intervention.
With this new version of Prophix One, Prophix is continuing its strategy of bringing EPM, artificial intelligence and everyday work tools closer together. This development could gradually change the way finance teams approach planning, reporting and certain recurring processes.
