In planning and performance management environments, the ability to fine-tune the level at which KPIs are analysed has become a key issue. With the KEEP modifier, Pigment provides finance and data teams with a feature designed to simplify the use of multidimensional data without compromising its consistency, according to the vendor.
The KEEP modifier makes it possible to retain only the dimensions relevant to a KPI, while automatically aggregating those that are not retained. Integrated into Pigment's modelling language, this tool makes it possible to recalculate a metric at a level of granularity suited to business needs, whether for analysis by country, period or product. By default, removed dimensions are aggregated by sum, but other methods can be used depending on the nature of the data.
This approach is particularly effective in financial contexts, where KPI readability is essential for decision-making. By combining KEEP with ranking functions, Pigment also makes it possible to process non-additive data, such as statuses or reference values, by precisely defining the selection rules for the information retained.
Through this feature, Pigment demonstrates its commitment to offering an EPM platform capable of transforming complex models into clear, actionable KPIs. This development confirms the growing importance of dimensional functions in modernising performance management tools.
