Pigment announces the launch of Intent Modeling, a new approach to designing enterprise planning models, powered by its Modeler Agent. This innovation aims to simplify and accelerate the creation of financial and operational models from instructions expressed in natural language.
Modelling guided by business intent
With Intent Modeling, users can describe the model they want to build, for example a sales capacity model, an income statement extension with gross margin calculation, or a detailed explanation of a revenue forecast—and obtain within minutes a modelled, governed structure ready for use.
The objective is to reduce the technical tasks associated with manually configuring dimensions, formulas and business rules, while ensuring a framework that meets the governance requirements of EPM environments.
Accelerating the transition from idea to operational model
This development is part of a broader trend towards integrating artificial intelligence into planning platforms. By automating certain stages of model building and maintenance, Pigment aims to enable Finance teams and operational leaders to focus more on analysis and decision-making.
According to the vendor, several technology companies such as Figma, Notion, ClickUp and Carta are already using this approach to accelerate the transformation of their planning processes.
A strategic development for EPM platforms
With Intent Modeling, Pigment strengthens its position in the integrated planning solutions market by introducing an “intent”-driven design approach, which could reduce implementation times and improve model agility.
This announcement illustrates a major trend in the EPM ecosystem: the shift from tools focused on technical configuration to platforms capable of directly interpreting business needs.
