Oracle recently communicated an important decision regarding the Cloud EPM updates scheduled for November 2025, December 2025 and January 2026. Following several issues detected in the Essbase 21.7.x version included in the 25.11 update, the vendor has chosen to prioritise stability and reliability by temporarily suspending the deployment of new versions to test and production environments.
Why this decision?
On 20 November, Oracle confirmed that the 25.11 update — initially scheduled for production environments on 21 November — would ultimately not be applied. Although only a handful of customers reported issues related to the new Essbase version, Oracle decided to act proactively to avoid any impact, particularly as a critical closing period approaches for finance departments.
With the same cautious approach, Oracle also announced that versions 25.12 and 26.01 would not be deployed to EPM environments, whether test or production.
Impact on Cloud EPM customers
Test environments: They will remain by default on the 25.11 version already installed.
Production environments: They will continue to operate on the stable 25.10 version until the deployment of the 26.02 update, scheduled for February 2026.
This approach reflects Oracle's commitment to maintaining a high level of quality, security and service continuity for its customers.
Enhanced security: mandatory MFA
At the same time, Oracle is announcing a major change to access security.
Since 19 November 2025, Oracle Community has required multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all users.
This measure aims to strengthen the protection of community accounts and data by adding an additional layer of security at login.
