Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM: New Model Change Management Features (April 2025)
09 April 2025
Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management continues to evolve with new options in its Strategic Modeling Model Change Management interface. These enhancements are designed to provide smoother, more efficient model management, making it easier for users to define target models after changes.
1. Overwrite Groups in Target: Complete replacement of account groups
This feature, available through the Account Groups tab in the Model Change Management interface, enables all account groups in the target model to be completely replaced with those from the source model. Once this option is enabled and the model change management process is run, the target model will be identical to the source model in terms of account groups, with no differences.
User benefit: this option simplifies the management of account groups across different models by ensuring perfect synchronisation without requiring manual editing.
2. Calculate All Scenarios: Automatic scenario calculation
This option, located on the Calculate tab in Model Change Management, recalculates all scenarios once the model change management process is complete. This ensures that calculations in the target model are automatically updated to reflect the latest changes.
User benefit: automatic scenario recalculation optimises the process by eliminating the need to manually recalculate data after each model update. This ensures that information is always up to date for more informed decision-making.
3. User experience enhancements
These new options are designed to improve the usability of the Model Change Management interface. By offering more efficient ways to synchronise and recalculate models, they enable users to save time and reduce the risk of errors when managing changes.
Model administrators and financial analysts can therefore benefit from a smoother experience when adjusting and finalising their models, while maintaining data integrity.
4. Key resources to maximise usage
To help users take full advantage of these new features, Oracle provides training and support resources, including:
Administering Planning: a detailed guide for administrators who wish to manage and configure planning models in Strategic Modeling.
Defining Metadata to Copy with Model Change Management: practical instructions for defining the metadata to be copied during model changes, thereby facilitating data migration management.
These new model change management options are a valuable addition to Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM, providing organisations with greater agility and efficiency in managing their financial planning and performance processes.
