Pigment is continuing its innovation strategy by introducing a new feature that is essential for data governance: List Item History Properties. This module provides automated and accurate tracking of the creation and modification of items within transaction and dimension lists.
Greater transparency for EPM environments
List Item History Properties systematically record four key pieces of information for each item: the date and time of creation, the user who created it, the date and time of the last modification, and the user who made that modification. This data, recorded in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and adjusted to each user's time zone, ensures reliable traceability and effective auditing, particularly in collaborative and multi-user contexts.

This feature addresses key compliance, quality control and EPM model management requirements:
Organisation and sorting of transactions according to the chronology of events
Identification and clean-up of obsolete items
Accurate tracking of user contributions
Facilitation of internal and external audits
Implementation and operation
List Item History Properties can be enabled easily through the settings for each list, under the section dedicated to special properties. Once enabled, data collection is fully automated, with no manual intervention or specific coding required. However, it should be noted that these properties do not retrospectively capture history prior to their activation, and modifications resulting from formulas are not recorded.
Specific usage framework
In a Test & Deploy environment, data related to these properties is not automatically transferred when deployed to production. Consequently, the properties start empty and are populated as operations are carried out.
