Anaplan is evolving its platform with a series of new features announced as part of its July 2026 updates. These enhancements notably cover the user experience, data management, workflows, and financial close and consolidation processes.
An enhanced user experience
The update introduces several improvements designed to make the platform easier to use on a daily basis. These enhancements notably cover table layouts, expanding and collapsing rows in grids, and KPI cards.
Anaplan is also enhancing CoModeler, with the ability to modify certain data sources through conversation, create import actions from files, and save views directly in models.
Data Orchestrator at the heart of integrations
Data management and movement are another key focus of this update. Anaplan Data Orchestrator (ADO) benefits from numerous improvements relating to pipelines, data sources and destinations.
The announced enhancements notably include support for Databricks in both directions, as well as writeback to MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Google BigQuery. These capabilities should facilitate data movement between Anaplan models and companies’ data environments.
Advances in financial consolidation
The update also brings several changes in the area of Financial Consolidation and Close. The journal module benefits from improvements designed to increase visibility into journal entries and improve performance.
The consolidation engine is also evolving, with the ability to perform consolidations in parallel across multiple dimensions. Anaplan also plans to provide functionality to manage the elimination of margins on intercompany inventory, entity mergers and the netting of multiple accounts.
These developments are accompanied by improvements to import and integration processes, notably through hierarchy extraction and better visibility into staging table data.
Changes to legacy features
Anaplan is also announcing several changes concerning certain existing features. The previous application version of Financial Consolidation will no longer be supported, while certain legacy reporting features will gradually be replaced by web reports or forms.
The platform will also no longer allow workflows to be modified while they are running, a change presented as being intended to preserve the integrity of processes in progress.
A platform that continues to evolve
In addition to the features already announced, Anaplan is also presenting several upcoming developments. The platform notably plans optimizations related to calculation precision with StrictMath and compatibility with Java 21.
With this update, Anaplan is continuing to develop a platform covering planning, data integration, workflows and financial consolidation. The announced new features demonstrate a desire to progressively evolve the environment to meet the needs of finance teams and business users.
