Anaplan has announced new features and enhancements in its March 2025 release. These updates aim to improve the user experience, model management, as well as the security and administration of processes. Here is an overview of the main new features.
Planning and modelling enhancements
The March 2025 release introduces a new feature in classic mode: the "Calculation Effort" column. This column displays the percentage of calculation effort required for each line item in a model. This enables users to identify line items that require the most calculation resources and may need optimisation to improve model performance.
Another important new feature concerns the module inventory. Model builders can now adjust column widths for better data visibility, making analysis easier. In addition, dependency links in this inventory are now clickable, providing direct access to linked objects and optimising modelling efficiency.
User experience (UX) enhancements
In the UX area, Anaplan has improved task completion control in workflows. Workflow managers can now configure a completion rule that applies both to themselves and to other users. This helps ensure that all tasks are properly completed, thereby minimising the risk of completion errors.
The platform also introduces an option to hide the "maximise" and "comments" options on text cards. This feature gives page builders more control over the appearance of the interface, enabling them to further customise the workspace for a clearer, more focused presentation.
Security and process management
The March 2025 release includes an enhancement to log management: workspace administrators can now download optimisation logs via an API, making it easier to analyse optimisation errors and make quick decisions to resolve issues.
Anaplan is also introducing a new user interface for the models page, aimed at improving navigation and reducing loading times. This redesign will provide a smoother, more intuitive user experience while retaining essential functionality.
Greater user autonomy and efficiency
To strengthen user autonomy, Anaplan now enables Cloudworks users to cancel lengthy processes directly from the user interface, without having to contact support. This saves time and enables faster decision-making, thereby improving overall user efficiency and simplifying their experience.
