Anaplan has presented its new vision for the enterprise with the launch of Agentic Enterprise. This initiative marks a new step in the group’s strategy, which aims to transform the operations of finance, human resources, supply chain and sales departments through artificial intelligence agents capable of automating numerous business tasks.
A new approach to decision-making
In a context where companies must contend with increasing complexity, ever-growing volumes of data and increasingly shorter decision-making cycles, Anaplan believes that traditional approaches are reaching their limits. Manual analyses, siloed systems and fragmented processes slow organizations’ ability to anticipate market developments and respond quickly.
With Agentic Enterprise, the provider is offering a decision infrastructure based on artificial intelligence agents capable of executing operational tasks, while employees can devote more time to strategic decisions and value creation.
A unified platform serving data
At the heart of this strategy is a common platform that centralizes data from the company’s various systems. This calculation and data foundation serves as a single source of truth, enabling the production of consistent, traceable and auditable analyses.
The platform leverages Anaplan’s planning capabilities while integrating data from ERPs, data lakes and other business applications to generate forward-looking scenarios and support decision-making.
Specialized AI agents for each business function
Anaplan plans to progressively deploy a portfolio of specialized agents covering the company’s main business functions. The initial solutions will focus on finance departments before being extended to supply chain, human resources and sales functions.
These agents will be tasked with automating certain operations, assisting users with their analyses and formulating recommendations based on the company’s data and business rules.
Finance takes center stage
The first phase of the program targets finance departments. Scheduled for October, this offering will bring together agents dedicated to the CFO office’s main activities, including financial planning (FP&A), treasury, financial operations, procurement, accounting, tax, audit, risk management, investor relations and strategic development.
According to Anaplan, these agents will help reduce repetitive tasks, accelerate analyses and improve the quality of decisions through better use of the available data.
AI combining language models and a calculation engine
The provider emphasizes that its approach combines the conversational capabilities of large language models (LLMs) with its proprietary calculation engine. This architecture is intended to produce reliable, explainable responses directly grounded in the company’s data, while limiting the costs generally associated with intensive use of generative artificial intelligence.
Anaplan also states that several CFOs from large international companies are participating in the development of these new agents to ensure that they address organizations’ real-world needs.
An enhanced partnership with AWS
As part of this strategy, Anaplan announces that its Agentic Enterprise environment will be deployed on Amazon Bedrock. This collaboration with Amazon Web Services aims to provide a secure, high-performance and scalable infrastructure for deploying artificial intelligence at scale in enterprises.
A new milestone for EPM platforms
With Agentic Enterprise, Anaplan is expanding its positioning beyond connected planning to offer a platform in which artificial intelligence agents participate directly in the execution of business processes. This development illustrates the growing importance of agentic AI in performance management solutions and reflects providers’ desire to integrate more automation, assistance and intelligence into the company’s strategic functions.
