Anaplan has presented its new vision for the enterprise with the launch of Agentic Enterprise. This initiative marks a further step in the group’s strategy, which aims to transform the operations of finance, human resources, supply chain and sales departments through artificial intelligence agents capable of automating numerous business tasks.
A new approach to decision-making
In a context where businesses must contend with increasing complexity, ever-growing volumes of data and increasingly shorter decision-making cycles, Anaplan believes that traditional approaches are reaching their limits. Manual analysis, siloed systems and fragmented processes slow organisations’ ability to anticipate market developments and respond quickly.
With Agentic Enterprise, the publisher is offering a decision-making infrastructure based on artificial intelligence agents capable of carrying out operational tasks, while employees can devote more time to strategic decisions and value creation.
A unified platform serving data
At the heart of this strategy is a shared platform that centralises data from the company’s various systems. This computing and data foundation provides a single source of truth, enabling the production of consistent, traceable and auditable analyses.
The platform builds on Anaplan’s planning capabilities while integrating data from ERPs, data lakes and other business applications to generate forward-looking scenarios and support decision-making.
Specialised AI agents for every business function
Anaplan plans to progressively deploy a portfolio of specialised agents covering the company’s main business functions. The first solutions will focus on finance departments before being extended to supply chain, human resources and sales functions.
These agents will automate certain operations, assist users with their analyses and provide recommendations based on company data and business rules.
Finance departments at the forefront
The first phase of the programme targets finance departments. Scheduled for October, this offering will bring together agents dedicated to the main activities of the CFO’s office, including financial planning (FP&A), treasury, financial operations, procurement, accounting, tax, audit, risk management, investor relations and strategic development.
According to Anaplan, these agents will reduce repetitive tasks, accelerate analysis and improve the quality of decisions through better use of available data.
AI combining language models and a calculation engine
The publisher emphasises that its approach combines the conversational capabilities of large language models (LLM) with its proprietary calculation engine. This architecture aims to produce reliable, explainable responses directly grounded in company data, while limiting the costs generally associated with intensive use of generative artificial intelligence.
Anaplan also states that several CFOs from major international companies are participating in the development of these new agents to ensure they meet organisations’ real-world needs.
A strengthened partnership with AWS
As part of this strategy, Anaplan announces that its Agentic Enterprise environment will be deployed on Amazon Bedrock. This collaboration with Amazon Web Services aims to provide a secure, high-performance and scalable infrastructure for deploying artificial intelligence at scale across enterprises.
A new milestone for EPM platforms
With Agentic Enterprise, Anaplan is expanding its positioning beyond connected planning to offer a platform in which artificial intelligence agents directly participate in the execution of business processes. This development illustrates the growing importance of agentic AI in performance management solutions and reflects publishers’ intention to integrate greater automation, assistance and intelligence into the company’s strategic functions.
