Board connects operations, finance and commerce through new AI agents

Supply Chain Agent and Merchandiser Agent Board

In an economic environment marked by uncertainty and the need to make decisions ever more quickly, companies are looking to evolve their management practices. It is in this context that Board announces the launch of two new artificial intelligence agents dedicated to enterprise planning: the Supply Chain Agent and the Merchandiser Agent.

This new phase is part of Board’s vision for Agentic Continuous Planning, an approach that aims to transform the way organisations plan, analyse and execute their decisions. The objective: to go beyond simple conversational assistants and offer intelligence integrated directly into business processes.

Smarter, continuous enterprise planning

While many companies are now experimenting with generative artificial intelligence, Board believes that the real value of AI lies not only in its ability to provide quick answers, but also in its capacity to understand the business context and support decision-making.

With these new AI agents, the platform aims to further connect the company’s different functions — finance, operations, supply chain and commerce — around more collaborative and evolving planning.

The approach is based on a simple principle: enabling teams not only to analyse what has happened, but also to anticipate what could happen and assess the best options before taking action.

A Supply Chain Agent to anticipate operational risks

The first agent announced by Board targets supply chain teams. In a context where companies must contend with demand fluctuations, supply constraints and rapid market changes, this tool aims to strengthen their ability to anticipate.

The Supply Chain Agent analyses planning data, forecasts and operational signals to help companies:

  • detect changes in demand more quickly;
  • identify potential performance risks;
  • analyse different scenarios before making a decision;
  • measure the impact on costs, inventory, product availability and profitability.

The objective is to move from reactive disruption management to a more proactive approach, where teams can better assess the trade-offs between customer service, costs and financial performance.

A Merchandiser Agent to optimise retail decisions

The second agent is aimed primarily at retail players and consumer brands. The Merchandiser Agent aims to bring together decisions related to products, inventory and financial objectives.

Through the analysis of commercial and operational data, it helps merchandising teams in particular to:

  • better understand product category performance;
  • identify overstocking or stockout risks;
  • improve assortment decisions;
  • optimise inventory investments;
  • reduce risks related to markdowns and unsold goods.

This approach enables companies to better align their commercial decisions with their financial and operational objectives.

With the introduction of these two new agents, Board expands its portfolio of AI agents, which already includes the FP&A Agent and the Controller Agent, thus covering several key areas of enterprise management.
