Solidarités International turns to Anaplan to modernize financial planning and strengthen operational transparency

Solidarités International has chosen Anaplan to modernize its international financial management. The NGO aims to replace largely manual budgeting processes with a centralized platform, automate budgets, forecasts and cost allocations, and improve traceability, transparency and forward planning. This transformation is expected to accelerate budgeting cycles and support more strategic decision-making in response to humanitarian crises.

In a humanitarian context where speed of decision-making and resource management are essential, Solidarités International is taking an important step in transforming its financial management. The French NGO has chosen Anaplan to modernize its budgeting processes, improve its forecasts and strengthen financial visibility across its international operations.

Operating in numerous countries alongside populations affected by conflicts, epidemics or natural disasters, Solidarités International must manage complex and constantly changing environments. Until now, the organization has relied on largely manual processes, notably based on spreadsheets, to build its budgets, track its expenses and produce its forecasts.

This approach created several challenges: lengthy budgeting cycles, difficulties consolidating information between headquarters and local offices, and a lack of flexibility to quickly anticipate different scenarios in response to humanitarian crises.

A single platform to improve financial management

With Anaplan, Solidarités International aims to establish a more connected financial environment capable of centralizing data from its various activities and areas of intervention.

The solution will notably make it possible to automate several key processes, such as budget preparation, financial forecasting and cost allocation across different projects and funding sources. The objective is to achieve better information traceability and a clearer view of financial performance.

This development should also enable teams to move from primarily operational reporting to an approach that is more focused on analysis and forward planning.

“The ability to move from manual, reactive reporting to a more strategic financial management model will enable our teams to focus on higher-value analyses and respond more quickly to crises,” explains Tiphaine Dupont, Chief Financial Officer of Solidarités International.

A transformation serving transparency and decision-making

Through this modernization, the NGO aims to strengthen the reliability of its financial data and improve transparency with its partners and funders.

Teams will notably benefit from:

  • dynamic financial forecasts to better simulate the impact of crises;
  • faster and more reliable budgeting cycles;
  • automated complex cost allocation calculations;
  • dashboards enabling real-time monitoring of key indicators.

Beyond the technology itself, this project illustrates a broader trend in the non-profit and humanitarian sectors: the adoption of advanced financial management solutions to better manage resources, optimize operations and support strategic decision-making.

With Anaplan, Solidarités International is therefore seeking to build financial management that is more agile, collaborative and better suited to the challenges of an ever-changing humanitarian environment.
