In a humanitarian context where rapid decision-making and resource management are essential, Solidarités International is taking an important step in transforming its financial management. The French NGO has chosen Anaplan to modernise its budgeting processes, improve its forecasting and strengthen the financial visibility of its international operations.
Operating in many countries alongside populations affected by conflicts, epidemics or natural disasters, Solidarités International must manage complex and constantly evolving environments. Until now, the organisation relied on largely manual processes, particularly spreadsheet-based ones, to prepare its budgets, track its expenditure and produce its forecasts.
This set-up created several challenges: long budgeting cycles, difficult consolidation of information between headquarters and local offices, as well as a lack of flexibility to quickly anticipate different scenarios in response to humanitarian crises.
A single platform to improve financial management
With Anaplan, Solidarités International aims to establish a more connected financial environment, capable of centralising data from its various activities and areas of operation.
The solution will notably automate several key processes, such as budget preparation, financial forecasting and cost allocation across the various projects and funding sources. The aim is to achieve better information traceability and a clearer view of financial performance.
This development should also enable teams to move from predominantly operational reporting to an approach more focused on analysis and anticipation.
“The ability to move from manual, reactive reporting to a more strategic financial management model will enable our teams to focus on higher-value analysis and respond more quickly to crises,” explains Tiphaine Dupont, Finance Director of Solidarités International.
A transformation serving transparency and decision-making
Thanks to this modernisation, the NGO aims to strengthen the reliability of its financial data and improve transparency for its partners and funders.
Teams will notably benefit from:
- dynamic financial forecasts to better simulate the impact of crises;
- faster, more reliable budgeting cycles;
- automation of complex cost allocation calculations;
- dashboards enabling real-time monitoring of key indicators.
Beyond the technological tool, this project illustrates a broader trend in the non-profit and humanitarian sector: the adoption of advanced financial management solutions to better manage resources, optimise operations and support strategic decision-making.
With Anaplan, Solidarités International is therefore seeking to build more agile, more collaborative financial management that is better suited to the challenges of an ever-changing humanitarian environment.
