OneStream and Microsoft have announced a major expansion of their strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence within finance departments. The announcement was made official on 15 May 2026 in a joint press release highlighting a clear ambition: to make AI a central driver of transformation for the Office of the CFO.

As part of this strengthened collaboration, the two companies plan to invest jointly over the next three years to develop infrastructure, use cases and artificial intelligence capabilities dedicated to corporate finance.

An alliance focused on transforming the finance function

This partnership builds on the complementarity between the financial AI capabilities developed by OneStream and Microsoft's cloud and AI infrastructure, including Azure and Microsoft Foundry.

The stated objective is to help finance departments make more effective use of their data to improve:

  • strategic planning,
  • financial forecasting,
  • reporting,
  • data analysis,
  • and the automation of financial processes.

According to the two partners, this new phase of collaboration will enable finance teams to turn growing volumes of data into reliable, actionable insights more quickly.

Three key areas of development

The agreement is based on three strategic priorities.

Strengthening AI infrastructure

OneStream plans to expand its computing capabilities on Azure infrastructure to support its financial AI technologies, including:

  • SensibleAI quantitative forecasting models,
  • generative algorithms,
  • and AI agents designed for finance functions.

This development is intended to meet the growing needs of large enterprises for financial data analysis and processing.

Development of new use cases integrated with Microsoft 365

The two groups also intend to develop new use cases connected to the Microsoft ecosystem, including:

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot,
  • Excel,
  • Teams,
  • and the entire Microsoft 365 suite.

The ambition is to enable finance professionals to access advanced analytics, forecasting or anomaly detection capabilities directly from their everyday working tools.

Accelerating the global adoption of financial AI

The partnership also includes commercial and support initiatives designed to help companies modernise their financial systems and migrate to workflows driven by artificial intelligence.

The two players are particularly targeting organisations seeking to replace legacy financial environments with more integrated and automated platforms.

A shared vision of AI for CFOs

In the press release, Tom Shea, co-founder and CEO of OneStream, stressed that finance departments are entering a period in which AI is becoming an essential tool for addressing economic volatility and improving decision-making speed.

For her part, Katy Brown reiterated Microsoft's commitment to strengthening enterprise capabilities through AI-focused platforms able to transform data into a strategic advantage.

Enhanced integration of AI agents

Among the announced developments is also deeper integration of OneStream's SensibleAI agents within Microsoft tools.

Users will therefore be able to perform:

  • advanced financial forecasts,
  • natural-language analyses,
  • as well as financial anomaly detection directly in Excel, Teams or Microsoft 365 Copilot.

This approach illustrates the two companies' intention to bring AI use cases closer to the everyday working environments of finance teams.

Further announcements expected at OneStream Splash 2026

Technical details and upcoming innovations related to this partnership will be presented at the OneStream Splash User Conference and Solutions Expo, held from 18 to 20 May 2026 in Orlando.

The event is expected to give customers and partners a more concrete view of future integrations between OneStream technologies and Microsoft's AI ecosystem.
