Anaplan announces a new series of updates presented in September 2026. These enhancements cover several areas of the platform, including workflow, AI-assisted modeling, user experience, mobility and data management. Some features are already available in the August releases, while others are announced for the next stages of development.
Improvements to CoModeler
AI-assisted modeling plays an important role in the announced enhancements. In particular, Anaplan plans to improve the traceability of changes made with CoModeler.
A new “Method” column should make it possible to distinguish, in a model’s history, changes made with the help of CoModeler from those made manually by users. This enhancement addresses a very practical need for companies: making it easier to understand who made a change and under what circumstances.
Anaplan presents this feature as a way to increase visibility into AI involvement while maintaining a human-in-the-loop approach to model development and management.
More readable and contextualized KPIs
The user experience is also a priority. Anaplan notably announces new settings that will allow page designers to define default contexts for certain selectors.
The aim is to reduce the manual configuration required when opening a page and to display information directly in a context that is relevant to the user.
KPI cards will also benefit from new customization options. In particular, users will be able to associate business rules with indicator formatting, display trends and use conditional icons.
For a finance department, this type of enhancement can make it easier to quickly read key indicators and identify a trend or variance requiring particular attention.
More workflow automation
Anaplan is also working on automatically refreshing UX pages after a workflow is executed.
A new option should make it possible to automatically refresh grids, charts and KPIs when a write task is completed successfully. Users will therefore no longer need to manually refresh the page every time to view the latest data.
This enhancement may seem technical, but it addresses a daily user need: having up-to-date information immediately after a planning or data-entry operation.
Anaplan Data Orchestrator expands its capabilities
The announced enhancements also concern Anaplan Data Orchestrator (ADO), the component dedicated to data orchestration.
Anaplan plans to allow pipelines using JDBC connectors to apply certain filters directly at the data-source level. The environments concerned notably include Databricks, BigQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Snowflake.
The benefit is to limit the amount of data extracted and transferred to ADO. This approach can also reduce the need to create specific views in source systems.
ADO should also be able to handle PGP-encrypted files when they are transmitted via file connectors, notably from Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, Amazon S3 or SFTP.
A mobile experience better suited to complex data
Finally, Anaplan continues to improve its mobile experience. The upcoming enhancements should make it easier for users to zoom in and move around pages when they contain tables or detailed visual elements.
KPI cards with conditional formatting rules should also be viewable on mobile.
This enhancement reflects a shift in how planning tools are used: data is no longer necessarily accessed only from a workstation. Managers may need to access certain indicators while traveling or outside their usual work environment.
A platform evolving on multiple fronts
With these new features, Anaplan is simultaneously evolving several components of its platform. AI, model governance, user experience, data orchestration and mobile access are among the main areas highlighted.
However, not all the announced features are available yet. Anaplan specifies that the items presented in the section dedicated to upcoming enhancements may still change before they are released to production.
