Board, a leading provider of enterprise planning solutions, announces the launch of Board AI Agents, developed in collaboration with Microsoft and powered by Microsoft Foundry (Azure). This new capability marks an important step in the integration of agentic AI into companies’ financial and operational planning processes.
With this initiative, Board aims to meet a growing expectation among finance and operations leaders: turn AI into a practical decision-making lever, directly embedded in business use cases, rather than a mere generic analytics tool.
AI agents designed for planning functions
Board AI Agents take the form of specialised agents by domain and role, designed to support teams in their planning decisions. The first version focuses on the Finance function, with agents dedicated to FP&A and management control. Supply Chain and Merchandising-oriented agents are planned for a later phase.
Unlike general-purpose AI assistants, these agents rely on a detailed understanding of the business context: financial and operational data, business rules, planning assumptions and access policies specific to each organisation.
AI natively integrated into the Board platform
Board AI Agents are natively integrated into the Board planning platform. They use the same data models, calculation engines and reference data already used by teams.
This integration enables, in particular:
analysis of variances between forecasts, budgets and actuals,
generation of actionable summaries from complex data,
contribution to scenario planning, in conjunction with Board Foresight’s predictive capabilities.
For more complex planning situations, several agents can also collaborate with one another, combining their expertise to address cross-functional decisions involving finance and operations.
A value-driven approach and enterprise-scale deployment
The stated objective is to enable companies to quickly generate a measurable return on investment. By targeting specific use cases and relying on contextualised agents, Board aims to facilitate AI adoption in environments where reliable results remain an essential prerequisite.
A secure technology foundation with Microsoft
Board AI Agents are developed on Microsoft Foundry, leveraging the agentic AI services of Microsoft Azure, to ensure a high level of security, governance and compliance, essential for enterprise-scale deployment.
Availability
The FP&A and Controller agents will be available worldwide from 31 March 2026, including through the Microsoft Marketplace. The Merchandising and Supply Chain agents are expected to be launched at a later date.
