Abacum announces the launch of AI Modeler, a new artificial intelligence feature designed to facilitate the creation, modification and understanding of financial models. The aim is to enable finance teams to evolve their models more quickly, without systematically relying on the people who designed them.
In many companies, financial model management still relies on a few employees who understand the formulas and calculation logic. This dependence can slow teams down, particularly when new requests arise or the business evolves. Adding a product, a cost centre or a new variable may then require several technical adjustments, or even a partial reconstruction of the model.
With AI Modeler, Abacum offers a natural language-based approach. Users can describe the model they want to create or the changes they want to make. The platform then generates a proposal based on the data connected to their work environment. It is also possible to import an existing Excel file to use as the basis for building the model.
More accessible and scalable modelling
The new feature makes it possible to create financial models, but also to adapt them to changes within the company. Teams can, for example, add new variables or modify the analysis dimensions without having to rework the entire structure. AI Modeler can also explain how an existing model works, detailing its logic and calculations. This capability is intended in particular to make it easier for employees who did not originally build the models to get to grips with them.
Abacum also emphasises the control retained by finance teams. Before a change is applied, AI Modeler presents the proposed plan so that users can review and approve it. The calculations are then executed by the platform’s engine, according to the model’s logic. This approach is intended to combine the speed of artificial intelligence with the rigour expected in financial processes.
Reducing technical dependence to support better decisions
Beyond the potential time savings, AI Modeler addresses an organisational challenge: limiting dependence on a single expert to create, maintain or explain a financial model. By making these operations more accessible, Abacum aims to enable teams to devote more time to analysing results, forecasting and decision-making.
This launch is part of a broader evolution in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) solutions, where artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in modelling activities. The challenge now is to offer tools capable of adapting to companies’ needs while preserving data consistency and control over calculations.
With AI Modeler, Abacum therefore aims to simplify the day-to-day work of finance teams and make it easier for models to evolve in line with business transformations.
